Burnaby Village Museum

The Burnaby Village Museum, previously known as the Heritage Village, is an open-air museum and is laid out as a quaint town that reflects the early history of British Columbia.

Each winter, the tiny town transforms into an interactive Heritage Christmas Display and attracts thousands of visitors. In 2016 they had a record number of visitors – over 49,000 people came to see the Heritage Christmas Display!

FestiLight and Burnaby Village Museum began working together in 2012 to create innovative ideas and design experiences that families will never forget.

In the first season FestiLight worked with the museum on a new presentation of lights. A whopping 24,000 lights were added to their existing holiday display. 

For the last five years, we have collaborated with the creative minds of Burnaby Village Museum and taken up the challenge of keeping the experience new, fresh, and memorable.

Some of the new additions we have implemented include:

– A shining feature for the top of the Big Sequoia Christmas Tree. The result was a custom star put together with our snowfall light tubes. The tree looked more spectacular than ever and could be seen from miles away!
– Delicate, silk lighting bulbs framing the Enchanted Forest.
– Rainfall lighting surrounding the Nine Ladies Dancing. It was a gorgeous, elegant and romantic touch to the 12 Days Of Christmas theme. This has also been the best received and most photographed of all the display.

By collaborating year upon year, we’re able to create ever evolving lighting displays to capture the spirit of Christmas in the interactive Heritage Christmas Display. We are thrilled to be a part of the magic at Burnaby Village Museum every year and look forward to showing what we have in store for next year!
